My Review

Chez Meme Gourmet is a beloved family-run eatery located in the Chinatown district of Port Louis, Mauritius. Known for its authentic Mauritian-Chinese fusion dishes, it offers a variety of comforting street-food classics like mine bouille, dim sum, niouk yen, dumplings, and the ever-popular bol renversé maison. The portions are generous, the prices are affordable, and the flavours are bold and satisfying. With its casual, no-frills setting and warm, efficient service, it’s an ideal stop for a quick and tasty meal after visiting the nearby markets. Despite its modest space, Chez Meme Gourmet remains a go-to spot for real local flavour.

FAKE NAILS IN NIOUK YEN. It was our first time going there and Definitely the Last Time. We found a FULL size Fake nail in the niouk yen. When we brought up the issue, the lady said it Happens and it’s not their Fault. She said it Might have been part of the meat. At checkout the lady RELUCTANTLY cancelled the niouk yen order. I hope the restaurant takes this kind of issue Seriously going forward..

Caudan Waterfront

Caudan Waterfront is one of the most vibrant spots in Port Louis, blending the energy of the city with the calm of the ocean. It’s a lively place to enjoy your food, whether you’ve picked something up from nearby restaurants or brought your own. Sitting by the waterfront, you can watch boats move in and out of the harbor, listen to the waves against the docks, and soak in the colorful atmosphere filled with music, art, and people. The mix of sea breeze, city buzz, and stunning harbor views makes eating here both relaxing and exciting at the same time.
