Accessibility

Our commitment
Mauritius Bites is committed to making our website accessible to everyone. We aim to provide an inclusive experience for all visitors, including people with disabilities. If something isn’t working for you, please tell us so we can fix it—we take accessibility seriously.
What we’ve done so far
Semantic HTML and proper heading order
Keyboard-accessible navigation and controls (including visible focus styles)
Sufficient colour contrast
Text alternatives for images and icons
Labels, instructions, and error messages on forms
Skip-to-content link and reduced motion where supported
Landmarks and ARIA only where necessary
Compatibility
This site is designed to work with the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, and with common assistive technologies (screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control) on desktop and mobile.
Standards we aim for
We are working to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines.
Known limitations
We’re actively improving the following areas:
Embedded maps and some third-party widgets may not be fully keyboard accessible.
Older or third-party PDFs may not be fully tagged for accessibility.
If you encounter any issues, we will provide the content in an accessible format upon request.
Assessment approach
We perform ongoing self-evaluation and testing using tools such as WAVE, Axe DevTools, Lighthouse, and manual keyboard/screen-reader checks.
