My Review

Bus Snack is a quirky and beloved eatery located inside a retro green bus along Royal Road in St Martin, Baie du Cap, Mauritius. Overlooking the ocean, it offers a relaxed, coastal vibe that perfectly complements its menu of authentic Mauritian comfort food. Popular dishes include rich crab soup, mine bouille topped with lamb or venison salami, and fresh octopus salad—all made with bold, home-style flavours. The portions are generous, the prices are affordable, and the service is friendly, although you might wait a bit during peak hours. With its unique setup and tasty local dishes, Bus Snack offers a truly memorable food stop.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Unique retro vibe, but a mixed feeling! I honestly can’t decide whether I liked this place or not – it’s very retro, almost in a peculiar way. However, the food was served hot and tasty, the waitress was kind, and the prices were incredibly reasonable – 500 rupees for two main courses and two drinks is amazing!

We had the vegetarian platter to go, we found it good but not super delicious. Not worth the price in our opinion (especially compared to other places)

Firstly, the staff who were working there were incredibly friendly and nice. I dropped my fork a few times and before asking they already brought me a new one. The food was great. Portion and taste was good. I ordered the salade ourite, combo, and the mine bouille. Overall, I highly recommend.

Bus Snack is one of those unique Mauritian gems where the setting is as memorable as the food. Housed inside a converted bus, this quirky little spot serves local bites with a casual, friendly vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. You can grab your meal and either sit nearby or take it to enjoy by the sea, as it’s often found close to coastal areas. The charm lies in its simplicity—great street food, an unusual setting, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Eating at Bus Snack isn’t just about filling your stomach; it’s about playfully experiencing Mauritius.
