My Review

Located just off the beach in Flic en Flac, Farata AKA Vinoda is a popular street-food van known for serving some of the best faratas on the island. This spot draws regular crowds for its freshly made flatbreads filled with tasty options like vegetarian curry, chicken, lamb, fish, or shrimp. Each wrap is cooked on the spot and paired with spicy chilli or tangy tamarind sauce. Prices are affordable, and the portions are generous, making it a hit with both locals and tourists. Though queues can get long, especially at lunchtime, the quick service and delicious flavours make it worth the wait. For an authentic, beachside Mauritian bite, Farata AKA Vinoda is hard to beat.

Excellent roti right at the beach and the best we tried in Mauritius. Don’t be surprised, other people know how good it is why you might need to wait a little bit.

Yes, it is very much worth the queue that is quite common at the spot, for obvious reasons : tasty rotis whether you try the veg or the curry chicken + amazing price + by the beach . What else ? No wonder it’s also full of local people

Flic En Flac Beach

Flic en Flac Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Mauritius, and for good reason—it’s wide, sandy, and stretches for kilometres along the west coast. It’s the perfect place to enjoy your food while soaking up the relaxed seaside atmosphere. The lagoon is calm and inviting, with casuarina trees providing shade for picnics right by the water. Eating here feels special, especially in the late afternoon when the beach glows under the golden light of sunset. Whether it’s a quick snack, a family picnic, or street food from nearby stalls, Flic en Flac makes every meal unforgettable.
