Tucked beside the lagoon in Trou-aux-Biches, La Cabane de la Prise du Pêcheur is a charming seaside shack serving some of the freshest seafood in Mauritius. With its bright yellow exterior and simple wooden tables shaded by palm trees, it’s an ideal spot for a laid-back lunch or early dinner by the sea. The menu focuses on daily catches—grilled fish, seafood curries, crab platters, and spicy achards—served with rice and fresh sides. Dishes are full of flavour, well-portioned, and prepared with a home-cooked touch. The vibe is casual and authentic, attracting both locals and tourists. Seating is limited, but the peaceful views and ocean breeze make it a memorable and satisfying stop along the coast.

Lovely family staffing 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 Ask for NATALIE | CAROLINE. Open air eating by the sea 🍽 Great views of bay, especially at sunset 🌅 Near to local shops for supplies. Fish 🐟 & Lobster 🦞 FRESH ! CHILL with LOCALS and tourists alike. Good place to kick back ! Bring your own wine & beer or try the mojitos 🍹 Can organise boat 🛥 trips to swim with turtles 🐢 & Dolphins 🐬 from here > ask for CLIFFORD . Plus, TRY the homemade pickles !

This little place truly serves local food. It’s a must-visit if you really want to experience Mauritian cuisine and especially the Mauritian vibes because it’s a very humble spot, with a great view of the sea, everything is cooked and freshly prepared, and it’s the real Mauritian cuisine. We had a fish curry with eggplant, which was exquisite, and a sautéed octopus, truly delicious. Definitely a place to discover whether you’re a local or a tourist, and it’s not a tourist trap, the food is truly exceptional. I will definitely be back!
