Tucked into a quiet backstreet in Grand Baie, La Rougaille Creole is a cosy, family-run restaurant known for its authentic Mauritian Creole cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with rustic wooden furniture, soft lighting, and the occasional sound of live Creole music adding to its charm. The menu focuses on traditional island flavours, with standout dishes like crab curry in rich tomato rougaille sauce, prawn vindaye, and octopus salad. Portions are generous, and the seafood is fresh and expertly cooked. Service is friendly and personal, making you feel right at home. Fantastic place, atmosphere is good with not to loud music. The food is great, not to long waiting time either. Definitely try the squid sallad for starter! (we shared 500g lobster, pictured)

10/10 restaurant! Great mauritian creole style food, polite and welcoming staff, superb cocktail, a must visit. They even offered delicious complimentary fritters and nice music to match the creole vibe.

I would 10/10 recommend this restaurant. Very authentic Mauritian food. Fresh crabs, prawns etc. would recommend that you reserve your seat in advance as this does get full very quickly and they may not have a place for you to eat. We went at 6pm and it was beginning to fill up from then.
