Often found in the busy streets of Port Louis and at popular markets like Flacq, Muslim Dholl Puri is a cherished name among locals for authentic, no-fuss Mauritian street food. Their dholl puris are soft, warm, and perfectly spiced with turmeric and crushed yellow split peas, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Served in pairs and filled with savoury accompaniments like gros pois (butter bean curry), rougaille, pickles, and chutneys, they strike a delicious balance of flavour and texture. While the setup is simple and seating is limited, service is quick and the prices are very affordable—usually around Rs 20–25 per pair. For many, Muslim Dholl Puri is a nostalgic, flavourful reminder of what makes Mauritian food culture so special.

One of the best Dholl Puri in Mauritius. Truly local atmosphere, don’t expect a restaurant, be prepared to eat the Dhollpuri using just your hands and fully enjoy the flavours and tastes of this simple but delicious food.
